Tatrym is a commission-free trading app for Central and Eastern Europe. We allow users to trade stocks and ETFs without paying any fees (no hidden fees either) and without minimum deposits. We want to democratize access to financial markets for everyone – we believe people should be able to invest at fair terms no matter how much money they have.
Q: Tell us about yourself?
I’m the business co-founder of Tatrym. My responsibilities include strategy, partnerships, compliance, and everything else non-technical which is covered by a technical co-founder. My background is in strategy consulting where I advised various corporate clients in London, Germany, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic.
Q: What is the inspiration behind your business?
Both of us, co-founders, come from the Central and Eastern European region but both of us have lived in the US and Western Europe for some time. There, we saw the rise of commission-free trading and how investing can be done in a more transparent and fair way. We decided to bring the model to the region and allow ordinary citizens to start investing without worrying they will be charged high commissions or hidden fees or being tricked into obscure and complicated financial products that only benefit the intermediary brokers.
Q: What is your magic sauce?
We don’t charge any fees for stock and ETF trading: no commissions per trade, deposit fees, management & performance fees, transfer fees, FX markups, withdrawal fees or any other fees. We generate revenue from premium accounts where users get financial news and analysis and will be able to access actively managed portfolios.
Q: Where do you see your company going in 5 years?
We want to be the go-to company for retail investors in Central and Eastern Europe.
Q: What has been your biggest setback so far?
Hiring software developers in very competitive markets.

Launching public beta.
