Digitoo creates software solutions for digitizing accounting processes so that companies can focus on activities that have higher added value. Our focus is artificial intelligence and its implementation into accounting. We can automatically read received invoices, extract data from them, and transfer them directly into your accounting software.
Our goal is to digitize and modernize accounting and to bring our solution to those who really need it but are currently unable to get them elsewhere, such as small and medium-sized companies. Our internal value is radical honesty, meaningful customer oriented and cooperation.
Q: Tell us about yourself?
I’ve been very technical since I was a child, simply a tomboy. In 1989, my father had to return to Cuba. My mom and I were left alone. Because we were poor, I could only choose from schools in the area. There was nothing but a grammar school, an industrial school and a business academy.
I chose the last option and after school, I started doing accounting. At work, they always told me I was a little troublemaker as I was constantly trying to change commonplace things. Plus, I am a bit lazy, I didn’t want to do all those routine things, and I wanted to automate everything somehow. And, in the end, that was the starting point of Digitoo.
Q: What is the inspiration behind your business?
Our biggest inspiration is our customers. We have a great relationship with each of them and we know everything about them, their problems, hopes and wishes. This close partnership helps us to stay motivated and look for new and better ways how to make their lives easier and more effective. If we see they are happy we feel satisfied and inspired to move forwards.
Q: What is your magic sauce?
Personally, I love challenges. Anything which seems impossible or someone says cannot be done becomes a fascination for me. I want to prove that nothing is impossible if you put your heart into it. That is how I have been since a young age and it seems I will stay like that forever. In Digitoo, we are a group full of such hard-headed individuals and we love it.
Q: Where do you see your company going in 5 years?
In five years, we hope to have a steady position in the Czech and Slovakia market. We aim to be well-known among small and medium-sized companies as a provider of high-quality solutions for their accounting needs. In near future, we would like to be like a startup REVOLUT for accounting services.
Q: What has been your biggest setback so far?
Our team is constantly growing and we are proud of the people we work with. But it can be challenging to always find the right people who share our values and vision. So, we faced a lot of problems when it seemed we were growing faster than we were able to get new colleagues. And in general, starting any business is connected with money. Like any other firm, we struggled to find potential investors who would share our values and help us in the initial stages of Digitoo’s life.
Q: What is the next big challenge for your business?
We are a new company and we want to spread the knowledge we have and to introduce our solutions to all companies so they can all benefit. But to get the information to everyone can be a complex task. Also, as I mentioned before, we aim to expand to an International scale in near future.
And there are many possible challenges when expanding, such as finding suitable partners, language barriers, different expectations about products or processes. We already started preparing for this expansion and we have our colleagues in Poland, Slovakia and other countries who help us prepare the groundwork. Without such contacts and preparations, it is not possible to be successful.
Q: How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We have a great team in Digitoo and it is constantly growing. We always look for people who understand what we want to do and who share are our vision and approach. Similarly, we were lucky to be approached by investors who liked what we do and how we do it. As a growing business, we are always looking for partners or investors like that. We want to grow as much as possible and for that, the network of partners and collaborators is necessary.
