Tell us about yourself?
This has always been a challenging question. Being that it is open-ended, I presume I may give a synopsis of who I was, who I became & who I have become.
I am a man doing my best to maintain many priorities. I start with God, put my family and friends second, and my needs third.
I believe that not one thing or person is stagnating. We are all energy, vibration, and frequency. Once we learn what our passions and desires are; they align with our true gifts. I learned at the age of 19 what I SHOULD do with my life. I would help people empower themselves through Pocket Billiards.
I learned through playing, that life is like the game of Pocket Billiards. Sometimes you get a huge break and miss the winning ball. Sometimes you get a lucky roll and win the set. Cue sports teach you decisiveness, confidence, emotional control, physics, science, physiology, phycology the list goes on. Pocket Billiards has given me a route to deep personal growth and understanding about myself.
“Who I Was vs Who I Wanted To Be”
In my young adult life, There was no money in the sport of billiards in the USA. So, I did what I could to “make a game” – some like to call ‘Hustling’. I paid my Dojo Boarding fees with earnings from tournaments and matchups that kept coming back.
I struggled to find my niche until I realised: I was the niche. I held positions inside tech companies like NCR. In my have scaled companies as a result of my Internet & Tech Abilities. I spent 8 years living in a Worldwide Martial Arts dojo called “Bushidokan Federation”. Studying DanZan Ryu Zenyo Bujutsu under Professor Sensei Herb Lague. With over 10 international dojos, I am proud to be a part of the spirit of our arts & Esoteric Principles.
From time to time I still speak with My Sensei, a person who gently changed my life allowing me to find my path.
I was growing my abilities of self-control, self-reliance, self-defence, and self-worth. The dojo changed my life, I became aware of my passions and desires. I became stronger in my will, more accountable for my actions & reactions. Throughout my life, I have strived to make a difference in the lives of others.
Skipping ahead 5-6 years later, I decided to pack up and leave my hometown. By 2014, I had arrived in Michigan to greet my mother, who at the time needed my help in many ways concerning her health. I am a team player and well versed in leadership, as the last role I had maintained as a “job” was the Territory State Instructor for Colonial Life Michigan.
What do you think is the single biggest misconception people have when it comes to startups?
“Attachments to ideals or concrete thinking”
“I have to have a degree or I have to know all things about this “dream”.
If you could go back in time to any moment from your journey, and give yourself one tip, what would it be?
Be more patient with myself. As I reflect on this question, I am stating a deep thought of my take away. Don’t burden yourself with failure when that is the way to success.
What makes you stand out as an entrepreneur?
Leading from the front with little to no expectation of anyone else aside from myself. I expect partners to continue their growth while sharing value in one common direction.
What are some of the best working habits you’ve gained over the past couple of years?
Ability to consistently work under fluctuating circumstances outside my control.
Give us a bit of an insight into the influences behind the company?
I am blessed to be with a team of partners inside a network that has grown & evolved the lives of many inside cue sports. Our main influence is behind closed doors, as we elevate others into the world of business online, we find ourselves in business.
Where do you see your business in five years?
I see our company’s culture & experts affecting other media & development companies on how network startups can leverage 3rd party partnerships in a cohesive & profitable way.
We are the difference.
What do you think the biggest challenge will be for you in getting there?
The rise and fall of the roll tide. I have seen over 30 partners in 2 years. Most left due to circumstances outside their control, but some were a hard lesson for me. I learned who to put time into and how to qualify people closer or more effectively. In my second year, I found that charging an association fee seems to be working well. When the partners lean on each other for support it will determine my ability to engage on a consistent basis.
Talk to us about your biggest success story so far?
I am still here. The billiards industry has struggled to grow in a common direction for the last 20 years. I am the founder of Action Pool Network and host a private group of the world’s top Billiard players & CEOs growing in one direction. Bringing billiards together & helping each other grow.
How do clients and customers find you? Are you much of a salesperson for yourself?
Google Me. See reviews & history. Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself!
What one tip would you give to fellow startup founders?
Be self-proclaimed & get qualified advice.
And finally, what do you hope the future brings both you personally, and your business?
Prosperity & Providence.
