Tell us about yourself?
Founder, tech enthusiast, coffee lover. In his spare time, he uses his cell phone camera, listens to music and watches movies.
What do you think is the single biggest misconception people have when it comes to startups?
The worst thing in my opinion is the funding model known as “burning money”, which is spending money to run various promotional campaigns so that users feel comfortable using our platform.
Especially after being reported by the big media, especially in my country, Indonesia, people think that startups always rely on the money-burning funding model. Even though not all startups are like that, some run bootstrapping and others use loans from banks or their families.
If you could go back in time to any moment from your journey, and give yourself one tip, what would it be?
Take a decision that you will not regret, because in the past I have chosen the wrong major in college, chose the wrong partner, took the wrong job and many more, I will say to myself, Take the right decision, and think carefully before deciding
What makes you stand out as an entrepreneur?
Because I love to write, since middle school. I thought it was just an ordinary hobby, but this hobby is now the reason why I built MauCariApa.com
What are some of the best working habits you’ve gained over the past couple of years?
Consistent in writing, after previously having difficulty doing this because I work for a company, so I only do writing activities in my spare time
Give us a bit of an insight into the influences behind the company?
What I do for MauCariApa.com is something I love, and of course people need it, so I don’t just write articles, but it must be useful for readers.
Where do you see your business in five years?
In the next 5 years, I hope to have several writers, editors and staff, with comfortable offices; it doesn’t have to be big or fancy. Most importantly, the company’s quality can be continuously improved
What do you think the biggest challenge will be for you in getting there?
Reader adaptation to the content we write, lack of promotion and introduction so people still don’t know we exist. Capital and finances make it difficult for us to carry out advertising or promotional campaigns.
Talk to us about your biggest success story so far?
I received AWS Activate credit assistance from DailySocial for two years, was nominated for Go Global Awards, had the opportunity to cover exclusively the Bootcamp Web3 event which was held offline by DailySocial
How do clients and customers find you? Are you much of a salesperson for yourself?
I get visitors from organic traffic, do SEO optimization, build relationships with colleagues and friends
What one tip would you give to fellow startup founders?
Before setting up a startup, think about the model, flow, and source of capital for your business, don’t let you get confused when your startup project has been running and costs a lot of time and money, always do market research before starting
And finally, what do you hope the future brings both you personally, and your business?
My hope is that in the future, MauCariApa.com can grow like existing media, such as TechCrunch or The Verge, with editors and writers who focus on their own area of expertise, and have a positive impact on people and the internet community.
