Vincent Pignon of Wecan Group.

Tell us about yourself?

Doctor, researcher and Professor for several years, I founded and manage Wecan Group, a company that help individuals & companies to communicate in a Secure, Private & Compliant Way.

What do you think is the single biggest misconception people have when it comes to startups?

I think the biggest mistake is to create a startup for freedom. Entrepreneurship and joining a startup means being passionate, believing in the ability to innovate, to change the status quo. It’s hard and ambitious work.

If you could go back in time to any moment from your journey, and give yourself one tip, what would it be?

Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. As for a marathon, you have to be prepared for it, it is not the same qualities, nor the same efforts.

What makes you stand out as an entrepreneur?

Probably passion and innovation. I believe, we can move into a new era, the era of the internet of Trust. I believe Web 3.0. is the future and I want to Build the future.

What are some of the best working habits you’ve gained over the past couple of years?

Routines are essential, they distinguish the dreamers from those who execute their dreams. I work a lot on these routines to be more efficient, to have more impact and focus.

Give us a bit of an insight into the influences behind the company?

Wecan is a leader in the field of compliance & secure communications based on blockchain. Our focus is to provide Secure, Private & Compliant blockchain solutions.

Where do you see your business in five years?

We want to become the WhatsApp for individuals and companies who want to communicate in a Secure, Private & Compliant Way.

What do you think the biggest challenge will be for you in getting there?

The biggest challenge is the time to market, the adoption, and the involvement of the team to meet the many challenges every day.

Talk to us about your biggest success story so far?

Our best success story is Wecan Comply. We have co-created a blockchain solution with major private banks in 2 years. Then, from its launch and in less than a year, more than 100 financial institutions adopted it to secure and manage their communications.

How do clients and customers find you? Are you much of a salesperson for yourself?

Customers find us by recommendation. Our solutions are viral and we work on these topics to accelerate the adoption of our products. In particular, we have created an association where our financial customers are present, the Blockchain Association for Finance.

What one tip would you give to fellow startup founders?

I would give 2: The first is that alone we go fast, with many we go far. And the second is to have a vision and to keep the focus.

And finally, what do you hope the future brings both you personally, and your business?

Wecan, the team and I have a vision and a mission and I hope we can achieve it. That would be the greatest accomplishment.
